The build standard is the same; the footprint is smaller and the layout is designed around one main use rather than several. That keeps the cost down and makes a pod viable in gardens where a full garden room simply will not fit or would dominate the space.
The distinction matters. A pod from us has insulated walls, floor and roof, proper glazing and electrics installed by a qualified electrician. That is why it is usable in January. An uninsulated summerhouse at a similar price is a three-season building at best.

Pods work well as a single-desk office, a therapy or treatment room, a music or art studio, or a reading room. We measure for the intended use, including door position and where daylight falls, rather than offering fixed catalogue sizes.
Narrow plots, sloping ground and restricted side access are the usual obstacles. A pod solves most of them because the footprint is smaller and components are easier to carry through. We check access at survey and tell you honestly if a crane or a different approach is needed.
Composite cladding keeps its colour with almost no maintenance, which suits a small building sitting in full view of the house. Timber is warmer in appearance and needs occasional treatment. Both are available, along with matching porcelain paving to finish the area around the pod.
Even at pod scale nothing is standard. Depth, width, glazing and door position are set to suit your garden and the way you will use the space. In a small footprint those decisions matter more, not less.
The most common use by some distance. For office use we plan sockets around the desk position, advise on networking from the house, and place glazing so daylight helps rather than reflecting off your screen.
Therapists, beauticians and instructors use pods as a professional space separate from the home. Where a basin or WC is needed we will look at drainage feasibility at survey, since that is the factor that decides whether it is practical.
