Four things move the number more than anything else: floor area, glazing, insulation and heating specification, and how easily we can get materials and plant into your garden. A restricted side entrance or a sloping site adds labour. Larger spans of glazing add cost but also transform the room. We set all of this out line by line rather than presenting a single lump sum.
Every quotation covers the base, the insulated structure, cladding, glazing, internal finish, electrics by a qualified electrician, delivery and installation. We do not quote low and add extras once work has started. If something is excluded — for example a new consumer unit or extensive groundworks on a difficult slope — it is stated in writing before you commit.

We provide an initial free quotation on request and discuss the style and size that suits your needs. Once agreed, the booking is confirmed with a 10% deposit. A compact room for a home office or study is the most common starting point and the most affordable entry to a proper insulated build. Going smaller saves money on materials but very little on the base, electrics and installation, so the saving is not proportional to the size. We will tell you honestly where the sensible floor is.
Composite cladding costs more initially but holds its colour and needs almost no maintenance, which usually works out cheaper over ten years. Timber costs less at the outset and wants periodic treatment. We supply both and will give you the honest comparison rather than steering you to the higher figure.
Made to measure does not automatically mean more expensive. Because the room is drawn around your garden, you are not paying for space you cannot use or a standard size that forces awkward compromises. Bespoke costs more only where the specification itself is higher.
A garden office carries a little more cost than a plain garden room because of the power and data provision, acoustic insulation and glazing positioned to avoid screen glare. For most clients this is the difference between a room they can work in daily and one they tolerate.
A properly built, insulated garden room with power is generally viewed far more favourably by buyers and surveyors than a shed or an uninsulated summerhouse. Build quality, insulation and whether it has electrics are what matter. A cheap structure adds little and can put buyers off.
The lowest quotation usually explains itself later: a thinner base, minimal insulation, single glazing, or electrics left as your problem. We would rather lose a job on price than deliver something that fails in its second winter. Ask any supplier exactly what insulation, glazing and base specification the price covers.

Almost always because of specification rather than profit. Base thickness, insulation depth, glazing quality and whether electrics are included can differ enormously between two quotes that look comparable on paper. Ask each supplier to itemise those four things.
