Heat escapes through the floor and roof as readily as the walls, and a building insulated in the walls alone will still be cold underfoot and slow to warm. Cold bridging at junctions and around openings undoes good intentions, which is why the detailing matters as much as the depth of insulation.
Large glazing transforms a room and is also where most heat is lost, so the two have to be balanced. We specify glazing appropriate to the amount of glass and the orientation, and discuss it openly at survey rather than fitting the cheapest unit and leaving you with the running costs.

A well-insulated room needs very little heating. Electric panel heaters, infrared and air conditioning units that also heat are all practical. What matters is that the room warms quickly in the morning instead of needing to run continuously — which only happens if the insulation is right first.
